Postal 2
Released April 2003
Developer: Running With Scissors
Publisher: Whiptail InteractiveArtificial IntelligenceThis is probably the weakest part of Postal 2. Combat AI is just awful. Opponent sees you as an enemy, picks a weapon (not always a good one), and comes toward you. No dodging, no using cover, no slick battle skills at all. Just a relentless, halting pursuit of you until he/she is dead. All the Postal Dude has to do is mow down opponents as he sees fit. I got through entire levels, especially early in the week, without taking much damage from NPCs. There could have been a lot more work put into the character AI.

Characters do make their way around town fairly well, but too many people getting stuck walking into walls, other characters, etc.. Occasionally, you'll see people stop to talk to each other in the street. The banal banter is amusing once - more could have been done here to further enhance the overall experience. I would have liked to see distinct personality types that each had 10-20 things to say, with responses that would change depending on what was said. Perhaps Postal 3.....
