larrystorch: What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
The answers on this question varied widely. You could tell who watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail and those who thought I was crazy. (The BU staff can just shut-up on that last bit)

Christopher Norton: 2.947x10 to the 2nd power, and I dare you to prove that I'm wrong. :)

CoCoPRo: 0_o

duck: huh?

EMH_Mark3:?? I don't know that! *YAAARRRGG!!!*

eXpendabLe: Unknown, but I can tell you that the velocity is increased 10 fold when either species is propelled by the blast of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

Rich Black: Ask Goldabar, he's the gimp slash geek slash boffin around here...

ScHlAuChi: Lets see what Babelfish says: Was die fluggeschwindigkeit Geschwindigkeit von ist, unladen Schwalbe ? Uhm.... sure....

Shag: 10 miles per hour! /me falls in the pit of death

larrystorch: I like to watch....
a. Primetime shows
b. Public Television/Educational programming
c. TV is the Devil's work

Christopher Norton: a. Primetime shows (If you don't watch "Scrubs" on NBC, you're missing out.)

Cr. Crowbar: c. Public Television/Educational programming.

daz: c. TV is the Devil's work....d. PORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eXpendabLe: I haven't watched TV in ages.. could someone catch me up with Sienfeld?

larrystorch: Wow! It has been a long time for you.

Goldabar: All of the above. I watch it all but know its bad. Ah well :)

j3rky: d. TV is: made by idiots; made with idiots; made for idiots.

larrystorch: Alot of your teammates seem to share that view or PTV/Educational.

Rich Black: b. Public Television/Educational programming Open University simply rocks my world.

Toby Rees: b. Recently I've discovered perhaps the best cartoon that was even created. Invader Zim!

Poneill: I just watch 2 programmes on TV: The Simpsons (on 3 times a day) and Seinfeld (twice a day). The rest is total and utter crap...except maybe the news and Animal Planet ;)

ScHlAuChi b. Public Television/Educational programming/Spacenight - alpha-centauri (www.spacenight.de)

Strac: a. Primetime shows because of c. TV is the Devil's work

Stuart: B....cough geek cough

larrystorch: ...cough know what ya mean cough...and Cartoon Network.

larrystorch: Do you have links to any good pr0n sites?

Sites were collected and distributed to BU staff ;)

larrystorch: Who is your favorite Author? Why?
There was alot of people who liked Tolkein, Orson Scott Card, and your other typical geek authors. I've listed those you may not have heard of, or were unusual.

Christopher Norton: My appreciation for a great book/novel has decreased ever since I've been force fed to read old classics in school. Otherwise, if I had to pick one recent favorite, then I'd choose "Eric Nylund" who wrote the book "Halo: The Fall of Reach."

duck: J. K. Rowling, I just love those harry potter books ;)

eXpendabLe: Dr. Suess - messages so deep and so powerful. I also like Terry Brooks.

larrystorch: The Suess....ok...

Janis Bode: Uwe Timm, because of his wonderful books I read as child and because of my favourite novel "Morenga".

Kai Kirchner: I don't read much, only on holidays, then mostly fantasy stories of "wolfgang hohlbein", a German mass-producing author.

j3rky: I don't really have a favourite author coz I'm reading many different things. If you ask me to suggest a very creative author, it would be Paul Watzlawick. If you're looking for a real challenge in reading, I'd suggest Immanuel Kant instead.

Jestah: Margaret Weis. She writes novels that makes you feel like you know the people involved. Really talented woman. R.A. Salvatore. Same as above basically.

Rich Black: Probably Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness is easily on of the crowning works of modern literature.

Timo Kuttenkeuler: Raymond E. Feist , he just is... i love all his books :-D

Toby Rees: It's gotta be Nick Hornby, I've always loved High Fidelity and About a Boy.

Poneill: It's hard to say. The authors I keep returning to are Beckett, Joyce, Steinbeck, Wilde, Kavanagh, Kerouac. I'm sure you'll find they've all got something in common if you look hard enough.

Rojazz: Kurt Vonnegut. I can't get enough of Slaughterhouse 5. Those damn Tralfamadorians...

ScHlAuChi: Wolfgang Hohlbein (famous German fantasy/sci-fi author) because his books are realistic, fantastic and very believable written.

Strac: Jack Vance, first time i read something of him (The Devil Princes) i was nine and i loved it. Read the "Tales of the dying earth", they're great!

larrystorch: My books-to-get list is officially out-hand. I'm definitely going to check out some of these authors I have heard of, or read yet.
